Cold Brew Coffee Served Warm?

As cold brew season approaches (Spring and Summer), we still have those cool crisp mornings to deal with.  Does that mean we have to drink hot brewed coffee in the morning to warm up?

The answer to this question is no, you do not have to drink our bean blends or any beans blended for cold brew cold.  Obviously, the way that cold brew is processed is different from that of it’s hot counterparts. The way that the coffee is extracted from the bean (temperature and duration) creates a totally different flavor profile.  To obtain a fuller and more consistent flavor for a hot cup of coffee we recommend brewing your coffee with the cold brew method and then heat it to drink it hot (without boiling it).

That being said we have found with our bean blends 102 and 180 that they do actually produce a great tasting espresso. It also worked well in Lynne’s Hamilton Beach Flex Brewer using a hot brewing method. The taste profile was different. Not a bad different. She simply prefers the flavors produced by the cold brew method.

The neat thing about coffee (hot or cold) as with any beverage is that different flavor profile appeal to different people.  What one person may like another may not and vice versa. This is one of the reasons we began offering our bean blends in 6 ounces as well; so that we can allow our customers and opportunity to try different options and decide which ones the like and don’t like. And if you don’t like the taste of it brewed cold, try it hot because the taste profile does change depending on how it is brewed.
